Pol Quadens

Designer

The ultra-minimalist “Strada” shoe was invented by the Belgian designer Pol Quadens. Its science-fiction, feather-light soles weigh just 70g and are made of carbon fibre, making a sublime “pedestal” for the body. Having started his career as a designer of furniture and wristwatches, this talented Brussels-born designer is now making inroads into the art of feminine seduction. To start, he has proposed a new way of looking at shoes, which he characterises as the new objects of desire. “I am, and will always be, a designer” he stresses. For him, innovative and trendy concepts in accessories can become timeless, and there will always be a place for real novelty. “For example, I know a lot about carbon fibre and have worked with it for a long time, and I wanted to find new uses for it, of which these shoes is the first.” For further information visit the official website http://polquadens.com
